Wild Times With My First INTO Article

Super excited to start working with some old friends at a new publication, Into. This is my first piece for the Grindr backed LGBTQ publication addressing diversity in the outdoor community. I don’t really have too much more to say than what’s in the article except to thank all 8 participants, Pattie Gonia‘s Wyn Wiley, Mercy Shammah from Wild Diversity, Perry Cohen from the Venture Out Project, Samantha Puc and Alice Lesperance from Fatventure (whose first issue, on newsstands now so to speak, I also have an article in), Jenny Bruso of Unlikely Hikers, Pinar Sinopoulos-Lloyd from Queer Nature, and Summer Michaud-Skog from Fat Girls Hiking.

Here’s an excerpt featuring a quote from Jenny Bruso:

“There’s a huge responsibility to be the ‘fat outdoorsperson,”’ Bruso said. “People want a very happy, healthy fat person. They want you to exercise five times a week and eat vegan. But I’m the kind of fattie who will eat an entire pizza and then summit a mountain.”
